The Ladder
Grammar Grabber has an achievement ladder system which promotes the user up predefined levels based on the users performance.
The ladder is split into three types.
- Local Ladder (Singaporean Users - Categorized by Age) )
- International Ladder (Singaporean and International Users - Categorized by Age)
- Global Ladder (All Users - Uncategorized)
The Local Ladder and the International Ladder are further segmented into age categories.
- Junior Category (5 years to 12 years)
- Teens Category (13 years to 16 years)
- Senior category (17 years and above)
Points System
Progression up the ladder is based on points gained by the user. Users attempt questions and gain points for correct answers. No points are given for wrong answers. A minimum number of points must be obtained before the user is given a promotion. This minimum is different for every level. The minimum number increases as you progress up the ladder.
There are two types of points. One is the Basic Points earned by answering the questions correctly. The other is the Ranking Points which the system uses to rank all users according to their level of competency. The ranking points are derived by applying a formula which incorporates not only the basic points but also the percentage score and the number of questions answered. Hence the higher the percentage of the questions the user answered correctly the better their ranking will be.
Level Structure
In each ladder there are 40 levels to be climbed. The levels are structured in such a way that they reflect the difficulty of the grammar questions in that level. The lower levels have easier grammar questions whilst those higher up have more challenging questions. Within the 40 levels there are ranks such as Beginner, Amateur, Novice and so on. The table below shows the different levels and the
associated Ranks.
